Forest Findings: A hike through the woods leads us into disscussion about the benefits of forests which range from habitats to oxygen emission. [Sci. 3.1, 3.5, 3.6-3.11; Sci. 4.4, 4.5, 4.8;  Sci. 5.1, 5.5;  Sci. 6.1, 6.2, 6.9]

reptiles:
 This class is team-taught by our pet snakes, our giant tortoise, and our trained instructors.  Snake niches, adaptations for capturing and eating pray will be emphasized. At the end of class, students can hold our snakes and pet the tortoise, but only if they wish.  [Sci. 3.4, 3.5, (3.9); Sci. 4.5, 4.8; Sci. 5.5]

Feathery Friends:
 This class takes us outside to observe our feathery friends with special emphasis on their adaptations and what they need to survive. [Sci. 3.4, 3.5 (3.6) 3.8, (3.9), 3.10; Sci. 4.5, (4.8); Sci. 5.5]

Whats in our Water?
 Students determine water quality by testing dissolved oxygen levels and observing living things in the reservoir.  Available only  in the late spring once water temperature rises. [Sci.3.5, 3.6, 3.9 3.10; 4.1, 4.5, 4.8; 5.1, 5.5; 6.1, 6.7]

GroupBuilding:
We offer group initiatives to 5th and  6th graders that encourage innovative problem solving and emphasize students’ ability to work together. [Phys Ed 5.1, 5.5, 6.1,6.4}

Orienteering
: A special opportunity for 5th grade friends (available soon to 6th graders too). Styled after  the TV show  “Amazing Race” orienteering on our property is a fun way to learn navigational skills while incorporating numerous SOLs. [Sci. 5.1, 5.
