Makemie Woods is a Camp and Conference Center owned and operated by the
Presbytery of Eastern Virginia of the Presbyterian Church (USA) , and supported by the
Peninsula District of the United Methodist Church .  Our ministry is providing a
beautiful outdoor setting where children and adults can gather, play, pray and learn,
encouraging one another in the name of Jesus Christ

SUMMER CAMP 2011!

Makemie Woods offers a great summer camping program for kids entering first grade through Sr Hi.  This awesome quality program is affordable, and financial assistance is available.  

Our summer program for 2010 was terrific, with many parents and campers telling us about how their lives have been affected and changed by the camp experience.  Brochures for next summer will be available in January 2011.  In the meantime, we will leave 2010 info so you can get a feel for the program.

EcoEternity is a conservation friendly, green alternative to traditional burial in a cemetery. Our customers love that they are preserving the forest and selecting beautiful final resting places that are great for the environment and meaningful to visit.   See  our EcoEternity page  for more information, and links to the great press the Makemie Woods forest has received.
